The Game Components

Summary: BornToDieGame has got different components and functions in the metaverse. Heroes, Armours, Weapons, Vehicles, Gems, Rare Earth Metals, and different permutations and combinations of these, resulting in diverse gameplay and results.

Heroes

Heroes are central characters in the gameplay.

There are 100+ base heroes, available in NFTs. Each Hero has different traits, e.g. Speed, Agility, Strength, Power, and Skills. Some might have some meta-skills which could be temporary and/or permanent. As they progress thru different levels, the Heroes level up using different NFTs.

Level Upgrades for Heroes can be bundled and sold as NFTs. i.e. As a gamer, if they have played the game and upgraded Hero to level 3, they can create a bundle and sell that NFT in the marketplace. However, in doing so, they will lose the upgrade level and will back to the base level.

There are certain milestones to achieve different upgrade levels. e.g. If there are 5 upgrades required to reach the next level, but they have got only 3/4 required upgrades, they can create an Upgrade NFT bundle only till the last level. They will lose the partial upgrades done.

Also, Heroes can get meta-powers by forging an Upgrade NFT using rare earth metals, and gems. These powers might be needed to cross a certain level which is becoming particularly difficult to cross. However, in doing so, they might be using the rare earth metals, and gems that will be needed to form the Portal Key.

A gamer can play with one or multiple Heroes as they progress in the game. Each Hero has got a different advantage for different levels in the gameplay.

Guns and Ammunition

While Guns and Ammunition are optional for gameplay, without them, Heroes are handicapped. They will not be able to progress too far in the game.

At the start of the game, only a few guns are available, that can be purchased. Different kinds of guns and ammunition are available in the gameplay as Proof of Play. They need to be minted at that moment, or the opportunity is lost.

Like the Heros, Guns and Ammunition can be upgraded to higher levels. At higher levels, they create more damage and help in clearing future missions. To upgrade their guns, gamers need to mint upgrade NFTs during gameplay, and then bring both, existing gun/ammunition and the upgrade NFT to the Weapon Forgery to upgrade their weapon.

Some rare NFTs (gems and rare metals) can be used to upgrade and make rare guns/ammunition.

All the in-game mechanics are managed by DAO, and more combinations are possible in the future.

Armors and Protection

Like Guns and Ammunition, Armors and Protection are also optional for the gameplay. However, Heroes are vulnerable without these. They would get killed fast.

The game begins with a limited set of Armors and Protection. As the gamers progress in gameplay, they get opportunities to mint new armors and protection, with Proof of Play. Similar to Guns and Ammunition, these mint opportunities are temporary, and they are lost, if not minted then.

Armors and Protection also can be upgraded and leveled up, similar to Guns and Ammunitions. Rare Metals and Gems can be used to upgrade into rare armours which will give the Heroes superior advantage and protection.

These are also managed by DAO, and more combinations are possible in the future.

Vehicles and Transport

With maps as large as 75 sq km, traveling on foot alone is not an effective option for Heroes. Cars, SUVs, Tanks, Helicopters, Airplanes, and more also play an important role in the gameplay.

The game does not sell any of this upfront. All these are available in the gameplay. However, minting these needs a lot of tokens. Gamers can enter the gameplay with more tokens, however, carrying tokens into the game has got other disadvantages.

Maintaining transport comes with a higher cost as well. Along with maintenance, vehicles can be fitted with weapons and accessories like guards, skins, stickers, and more. In the BornToDie Metaverse, there are motor garages, and upgrade shops where such activities are carried out.

Vehicles can also be rented and used inside the game paying a few tokens.

Access Packs

Heroes and Access fees are mandatory for the gameplay. Access fees can be paid in tokens on a per-game basis. There will be access packs available with multiple gameplays, which gamers can use as well.

Some of these access packs will be airdropped to genesis NFTs holders. Others will be pre-minted and available in the marketplace. There might be some access-packs available at a discount in the gameplay and has to be minted at that moment.

Once an access pack has been applied to the account, it can not be taken off, or sold to others either in the game marketplace or outside.

Upgrade NFTs

BornToDie progress comes with a variety of upgrade options. Upgrade NFTs are only available for minting with Proof of Play. As gamers mint these, they can trade these on the game marketplace, or on other marketplaces that support the network.

Examples of some of the upgrade options available are Hero Strength Increase by 5%, Hero Skills Improve by 3%, Upgrade Gun nozzle by 5%, etc

Upgrades are an important part of the gameplay journey, as, without the upgrades, one can not progress to the next level.

Resources, Elements, & Compounds

Elements and compounds form the core of all metaverse activities. While the rarer ones can be used to experiment and come with rarer/unique outputs, most of the others are used by the land parcels to keep their functions running.

These are the resources that are needed to keep the city running. e.g. Iron is needed both for guns, as well as vehicles. Copper is needed for guns, vehicles, as well as restaurants. And so on.

Depending on the gamer type, they collect more or less of these resources as they go to the gameplay. If any gamer has upgraded themselves as a collector, they will be able to collect more resources, versus the others who can collect some, but run out of space very easily.

Elements and compounds can only be minted with Proof of Play, however, they are free to mint. The limitation is on the amount that a gamer can collect.
